Financial Services

Typher Financial Services believes the best way to help our clients achieve their financial needs, goals and dreams is through a comprehensive, ongoing financial planning approach known as “Wealth Management”.  Wealth Management includes Professional Investment Management, Comprehensive Financial Planning, and Income Tax Preparation.

Professional Investment Management

This service provides for the complete, professional management of your investment portfolio.  Your money is managed according to your time frame, needs and risk tolerance.  However, all investments remain in your name and your accounts. Typher Financial Services is compensated on a Fee-Only Basis for the majority of our financial services.   See the “Why Choose Typher Financial Services?” page for more detail on Fee-Only compensationOur Fee-Only compensation is based on a fixed percentage of the value of your investments.  We do not receive any commissions for investments we make for our clients.  We feel that by having our management fee directly tied to the value of the investments, we are aligning our interests with our clients because we are financially motivated to grow the investments.  Of course, this also encourages us to keep investment expenses to a minimum for our clients.   In our view, the Fee-Only compensation creates a win/win situation for our clients and us.  Also, by not being compensated through commissions, our investment decisions are made on an unbiased, objective basis.

Comprehensive Financial Planning

Initially, a comprehensive written financial plan will be developed to create an overall strategy to meet your financial goals and dreams.  This plan will form the financial foundation that we will build upon and will inevitably modify over time.  The financial planning areas that will be addressed in the written plan and monitored on an ongoing basis (including an in-person annual review) are:

  • retirement income solutions graph.jpg
  • investment planning
  • cash flow management and savings
  • education planning
  • debt management
  • asset and income protection
  • income tax management
  • employee benefits analysis
  • qualified retirement plans for businesses
  • estate planning
  • charitable giving
Income Tax Preparation
This is provided for individuals and small businesses.

Wealth Management Fees
(Fees are tax-deductible as a Miscellaneous Expense on your income tax return)

The annual fee for Wealth Management ranges from 0.20% - 1.30% of the investments under management.  The percentage charged varies depending on the amount under management.  Fees are deducted directly from our clients’ investment accounts on a quarterly basis, meaning clients do not have to write us a check to pay for our services.  Of course, clients receive a statement verifying fees deducted.  A minimum of $250,000 for investment management is required. Additionally, a one-time flat fee of $1,000 is charged for the development and implementation of your personal, written comprehensive financial plan.  Thereafter, ongoing financial planning  (including an in-person annual review) is provided at no additional charge, i.e. it is paid for as part of the investments under management fee described in the previous paragraph. Lastly, the preparation of our clients' income taxes is included at no additional charge.  That is, it is paid for as part of the investments under management fee.
Other Financial Planning Options:  While most of our clients prefer the comprehensive approach provided through Wealth Management, financial planning counsel is also available on an hourly basis.  The charge for this is $200 per hour.
